Catalyst Paper announced a new line of packaging papers, branded LEAP. These coated and uncoated lightweight flexible packaging papers for food packaging will be produced at the company's Biron mill in Wisconsin as of February 2017.
Catalyst's LEAP packaging papers are designed for food applications such as flat or pinch bottom bags, sugar packets, poly and adhesive laminated products, and ice cream treats. Available in 15 to 50 pound basis weights (lbs per 3,000 ft2), LEAP is FDA compliant, exhibits excellent print fidelity and has great runnability through converting processes.
LEAP is sustainably produced and available with certified chain-of-custody under FSC, SFI, and PEFC standards. Catalyst is also a member of the Sustainable Packaging Coalition.

Catalyst Paper manufactures diverse printing papers such as coated freesheet, C1S, coated and uncoated groundwood, newsprint, directory, as well as market pulp. With five mills across North America, Catalyst has annual production capacity of 2.3 million tonnes.
