Klabin has partnered with Nucoffee, a platform developed by Syngenta, which operates on all fronts of the coffee chain, promoting integration among producers, cooperatives and roasters by selling high quality coffee.
The company chose Klabin’s industrial bags to serve overseas clients, who were satisfied with the new packaging that offers greater resistance and quality, besides reducing costs across the entire process.
High-barrier paper packaging is one of the most efficient solutions in preserving the original characteristics of specialty coffees destined for export, according to a research entitled "Evaluation of Packaging and Methods of Storage for Specialty Coffees", conducted by the Federal University of Lavras (UFLA-MG), in partnership with Klabin, the Brazil Specialty Coffee Association (BSCA) and the Brazilian Agency for Promotion of Exports and Investments (Apex), among others. The report’s findings have revolutionized the consumption of packaging across the coffee industry, since vacuum-packing was considered the best storage system by most coffee importers.
Besides preserving the original characteristics of the product, high-barrier paper bags are recyclable and produced from renewable natural resources, with the raw material coming from Klabin’s planted and certified forests.
Klabin's high-barrier paper bags are made of high-strength extensible paper, are airtight due to a closure system that consists of a high-barrier film that offers protection from light, as well as an Easy Open system that facilitates bag opening.
