Heinrich August Schoeller Söhne expands Schoellershammer paper mill

Germanys Heinrich August Schoeller Söhne GmbH & Co. KG has acquired a new production line for the manufacture of corrugating medium and testliner for its Schoellershammer paper mill.

The new line was supplied by Voith, and it is fitted with a capacity of 250,000 tonnes per year, the manufacturer said in a statement. This will allow to increase Schoellershammers current capacity, as well as enable the company to produce a larger share of papers with low basis weights.

The line is scheduled to be launched by the end of 2016, according to Voith. The investment is to create 85 new jobs.

The Schoellershammer paper mill was set up in 1784. Currently, the mill produces about 230,000 metric tonnes per year of corrugated board base papers on a paper machine with a width of 5,000 mm. The firm employs a workforce of 229.
