Russia and Austria may significantly expand their mutual trade in pulp and paper sector within the next several years, according to recent statements, made by trade representative of Russia in the Austrian Republic Alexander Potemkin.
As Potemkin said in an interview with the Russian Media 73 business paper, in recent years Austrian business has significantly expanded its presence in the Russian pulp and paper sector, while the expansion is currently ongoing.
Perhaps, one of the major players from Austria, operating in the Russian market currently remains Pulp Mill Holding – the enterprise, which manages several plants for the production of cardboard within the territory of Russia, particularly in the Simbirsk (Ulyanovsk) region. In recent years, the company has expanded its Russian business, being currently one of the leading players in the local market.
According to Potemkin, (as well as some other interviewed analysts) at present pulp and paper products could be one of the major trade items between Austria and Russia, while the turnover of both countries in this field will be only growing in years to come.
