Arkhbum Tissue Group LLC (a subsidiary of Arkhangelsk Pulp and Paper Mill JSC) increased the output of pulp and paper products by 32% in 2021 compared to 2020, according to recent statements of an official spokesman of APPM.

At the same time, the production of sanitary and hygienic products (SGI) increased by 28% compared to the previous year.

The growth became mainly due to the commissioning of new production facilities: the Futura 3 converting line and the Omet napkin production line (both in Italy).

The company's revenue for 2021 increased by 37% compared to 2020.

According to the company, last year there was a positive trend in the segment of paper towels for home use. The share of towels in the FMCG segment of the main manufacturers averaged about 20%. Meanwhile, "Arkhbum Tissue Group" increased the share of these products by 50%, up to 22% of the total output.

“People have begun to spend more time at home and are increasingly preferring paper towels rather than fabric ones,” the report says.

Currently, active construction is underway on a new phase of the SGI production plant in the Kaluga Region, which is planned to be launched in early 2023. Investments in the project during 2022-2023 will amount to about 7 billion rubles. The capacity of the second line is 70,000 tons of products per year. Thanks to this, production should double, up to 140,000 tons of products per year. The company intends to increase its share in the SGI market up to 10%.
