McKinley is a subsidiary of Mexico-based company Bio-Pappel, which announced the purchase Friday for an undisclosed price from previous owner Industrial Opportunity Partners, according to Post Crescent.

Midwest Paper Group made writing-grade paper until it closed in 2017. The company was then purchased and renamed in 2018, when it began producing paper for packaging. Industrial Opportunity Partners, a private equity firm based, had bought Midwest Paper Group in January 2020. The mill has been operating since 1889.

Midwest Paper Group’s corporate headquarters and manufacturing facility are located in Combined Locks, Wisconsin. The manufacturing facility has an annual production capacity of 400,000 tons on three paper machines.
