Selenginsky pulp and paper mill eyes to become leading paper and cardboard producer in Russian Siberia

Selenginsky pulp and paper mill (SCCC), one of Russia’s largest paper mills, located in Buryatia Republic will be modernized with the cost of the project more than RUB2 billion (US$26 million), according to press service of the government of the republic.

The main purpose of the planned modernization is to improve the quality of finished products and reduce its cost.

As part of the project, there are plans to increase the production of cardboard and paper by 40,000 tonnes: from 110,000 tons up to 150,000 tons per year.

"Currently, the plant is already implementing a program of technical re-equipment, while some equipment and machinery for its needs have been purchased.

Selenginsky pulp and paper mill is a city-forming enterprise operating in the single-town town of Selenginsk in the Kaban district of Buryatia, where 14,000 people live.. The plant is the largest cardboard producer in Eastern Siberia.
