Russian paper producers continue modernization despite sanctions’ pressure from West

Despite the ongoing military conflict between Russia and Ukraine and associated with it negative economic environment in Russia, most of leading local paper producer plan to continue implementation of their previously announced investment projects.

 

One of them is the Perm Pulp and Paper Mill Group of Companies, which has recently announced the start of the second stage of the Power of Paper project, which involves modernization of its BDM-2 paper- making machine.

 

Under the terms of the project, there are plans to upgrade the

main mechanisms of the equipment, which will increase the production of corrugated paper by 15%. Moreover a new grinding and preparatory department will also be installed, which will provide cardboard and paper machines with waste paper during further modernizations.

 

At the end of 2020 implementation of the first stage of the investment project "Power of Paper" was completed. A year earlier, the company completed the modernization of the KDM-1 cardboard machine. More than 1 billion rubles have been allocated for the modernization of the BDM-2 paper machine in the cardboard and paper shop №1 of Prikamsky Cardboard LLC.
