Investment to be launched Australian cardboard box producer Opal has announced its first regional factory in Wodonga is to be operational by October 2023, employing a workforce of 76.
"We'll run some training and development programs to help people come up to speed," Chris Daly, the general manager of Opal, told local paper The Border Mail.
"Current thinking is that we will start the commissioning process in the third quarter, so I guess that recruitment process for us will start in the first quarter of next year," he said.
The production facility will be fitted with a floorspace of 48,000 square meters.
A member of Japan’s Nippon Paper Group, Opal runs operations in Australia and New Zealand, and is one of the leading packaging companies in the Australian market, according to data from the business.
