DS Smith has announced an ambitious upgrade programme for its Viana kraftliner paper mill in Portugal.
The company plans to invest €145m in the mill in the coming years. The planned measures will reportedly increase the paper machine's capacity and improve the site's environmental performance, according to EUWID.
Viana Paper Mill, in northern Portugal, is one of the most important kraftliner paper mills in Europe. With a gross production capacity of 425,000 tonnes per year, the mill is a market leader in Southern Europe.
