According to trade union sources, Mitsubishi Paper has been decided to cut about 50 jobs of the 488 people at its Bielefeld paper mill, Germany, where thermal paper, carbonless copy paper and speciality paper are produced.
Prior to this, the union side fears a severe reduction of jobs and capacity in Bielefeld.
One of two coating paper machines is subject to closure at the plant.
According to EUWID, questions about the product portfolio and job security for the remaining 430 or so employees are still open.
