UK subsidiaries of Arjowiggins Group were put under administration on 22 September 2022, EUWID reports. The move came after exacerbating trading conditions since the management buy-out in 2019, worsened by the recent energy and cost crisis. The decision includes two mills in the UK; Stoneywood in Aberdeen and Chartham in Kent.
The group has been encountering difficult trading conditions after the management buy-out in 2019 following the insolvency of French parent companies, Arjowiggins and Sequana. . The group has been loss-making, with losses being exacerbated in recent times by significant increases in energy costs and the price of raw materials, especially pulp, the administrators say.
