Schwarz group is the new owner of the Maxau mill

The Maxau paper mill, specialized in manufacturing of publication paper, was until recently owned by Stora Enso. According to EUWID, Schwarz group has purchased the mill with the aim to continue to sell paper to third parties.

The Maxau mill produces uncoated magazine paper, particularly SC paper, on two PMs with a total capacity of 500,000 tpy. The paper is mainly produced from recycled fibre and can be used for advertising flyers, newspaper supplements, catalogues, magazines and similar applications.

According to EUWID, experts estimate that in-house publication paper demand of the Schwarz group (which owns the Lidl  retail chains among others) for flyers alone in Europe exceeds 500,000 t.
