In September 2023, paper tablecloths exports from Italy rose to 4.2K tons, picking up by 3.2% against the previous month. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a slight curtailment. The growth pace was the most rapid in May 2023 when exports increased by 41% m-o-m. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 4.8K tons. From June 2023 to September 2023, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure. In value terms, paper tablecloths exports shrank to $14M (IndexBox estimates) in September 2023. In general, exports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. Exports by Country
Germany (885 tons), France (691 tons) and the UK (678 tons) were the main destinations of paper tablecloths exports from Italy, with a combined 53% share of total exports. Spain, Austria, the Netherlands and Switzerland lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 26%. From September 2022 to September 2023, the biggest increases were in Spain (with a CAGR of +1.6%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth. In value terms, the largest markets for paper tablecloths exported from Italy were Germany ($2.5M), France ($2.4M) and the UK ($1.8M), together comprising 49% of total exports. These countries were followed by Spain, Austria, the Netherlands and Switzerland, which together accounted for a further 28%. Spain, with a CAGR of +2.3%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, in terms of the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
In September 2023, the paper tablecloths price stood at $3,224 per ton (FOB, Italy), falling by -5.5% against the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in April 2023 an increase of 8.3% m-o-m. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $3,524 per ton. From May 2023 to September 2023, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum. Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Switzerland ($4,112 per ton), while the average price for exports to the UK ($2,679 per ton) was amongst the lowest. From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to France (+1.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
