Deal underway Italian company Fedrigoni is readying to buy U.S. paper maker Mohawk Fine Papers, taking the relationship between the two companies, which have closely collaborate since 2022, to the next level.
“We are in the final stages of an acquisition to be closed with Fedrigoni,” Melissa Stevens, a spokeswoman for the U.S. company, told local daily Times Union.
She added that the takeover was very close to being completed.
“In September 2022, Mohawk Fine Papers, Inc., North America’s largest privately owned manufacturer of fine papers and envelopes, and the Fedrigoni Group, the leading global player in the manufacture of high added value specialty papers for luxury packaging and other creative applications, premium wine labels and self-adhesive materials, announced that they had entered into a manufacturing agreement to expand reach of specialty papers globally,” according to the U.S. firm.
Set up in 1931, Mohawk Fine Papers says it is a family-owned company based in the U.S. state of New York.
