Norske Skog first announced the sale of its Boyer mill to Boyer Capital Pty Ltd on 7 February 2025.
The sale of 100% of the share capital in Norske Skog Industries Australia Limited, the holding company for all of Norske Skog’s Australasian activities, has now been completed.

It is good to know that the mill will continue its operations under local ownership with willingness to invest and develop the site for the future. The Norske Skog Boyer mill is situated in Tasmania and has a production capacity of 150,000 tonnes of newsprint and 135,000 tonnes of LWC magazine paper. The site has a total area of 565 hectares, offering significant opportunities for future developments, and good access to raw materials and logistics infrastructure.
Constructed in 1941 by Australian Newsprint Mills, the mill was the first producer of newsprint paper in Australasia.
