Sylvamo has stopped the production of A4 office paper at its plant in the Russian St. Petersburg region due to interruptions in the supply of chemical reagents.
The American Sylvamo will decide in the near future whether to reduce or stop production at its city-forming pulp and paper mill in Svetogorsk.
An official spokesman of the company commented:
“The plant is currently running while the company takes steps to fix supply chain issues and continue production. The plant depends on raw materials and other critical materials and services imported from Europe.”
According to some sources at the plant, due to a shortage of chemistry for bleaching the mass, paper machine No. 4, which produces A4 format, was stopped.
Another machine, which produces food cardboard continues to operate in the normal mode.
