Facility to be sold Canadian group Canfor Pulp Products Inc. has unveiled plans to sell its Taylor pulp mill, and recently entered an agreement to facilitate the transaction.
Located in the north-eastern part of Canada’s British Columbia province, the mill makes bleached chemi-thermo mechanical pulp. Under the plan, the sale is to be worth some C$7 million (US$5.2 million), according to the information obtained by BNN Bloomberg.
The entity that is to buy the Taylor facility was not disclosed.
Kevin Edgson, who serves as the president and CEO pf Canfor, commented that the new owner is determined to repurpose the Taylor site, and work on a long-term plan that would also benefit the community.
The transaction is expected to be finalised during the first quarter of 2024.
“Canfor's North American facilities produce high-quality dimension lumber, value-added finishing products, and top-quality pulp & paper. We are also a leading producer of wood pellets and green energy,” the Canadian business said in a statement.
