Andritz has delivered a second fiber production line to Pavatex, a member of Soprema Group.
The line, which includes a chip handling and pressurized refining system, has now successfully produced first fibers at the insulation board production facility in Golbey, France.
Pavatex has already been operating an ANDRITZ fiber production line at its Golbey facility since 2013. The latest expansion significantly enhances the mill's overall capacity and efficiency. ANDRITZ again offered a cleverly engineered solution that perfectly met the customer’s specific requirements, making optimum use of the available space in the facility.
The new line with a capacity of seven tons per hour processes a mixture of spruce and pine wood chips to produce wood fiber insulation for the building construction and renovation sector. The scope of supply included a pressurized refining system featuring an innovative 42/44-1CP refiner and a plug-screw feeder designed to optimize dewatering prior to refining. The overall system is known for its efficient pre-steaming and low specific energy consumption.
Established in 1908, Soprema Group, a key player in the construction sector producing waterproofing, insulating and roofing material, has offered biosourced insulation in wood fiber since the integration of Pavatex in 2016. Soprema operates 123 manufacturing plants and more than 120 subsidiaries worldwide.
