Hamburger Containerboard invests in private 5G network to enhance production processes

Project completed German paper and packaging maker Hamburger Containerboard is investing in modernising its production facility, commissioning the country’s mobile network operator Deutsche Telekom to install a large private 5G network within its premises. 

 

The network consists of more than 120 antennas which deliver standalone 5G throughout 350,000 square metres, local industry news site Rcrwireless.com reported. 

 

The value of the latest investment was not disclosed. Across the world, private 5G networks similar to that commissioned by the German business are increasingly used by manufacturers from various industries to accelerate and ehance production processes.
