ProPaper Dubai 2024 reports closure of significant deals

ProPaper Dubai 2024, the Middle East and North Africa’s (MENA) leading Paperboard, Corrugation, Packaging and Tissue Industry exhibition and trade conference attracted close to 5,000 visitors during the three days of the show from September 17-19, 2024, signifying the salience of the growing industry segment and potential growth prospects in the region.

A statement from Verifair, the organisers of ProPaper Dubai 2024, held at the Festival Arena, Dubai Festival City, said that with the robust participation of 106 exhibitors for the three-day show, the expo presented a vantage point for companies from across 84 countries to pave the road for MENA market entry, and reinforce presence in the case of trade entities already present in the region.

“ProPaper Dubai 2024 was a huge success for industry stakeholders associated with the show, and a number of key deals were signed amounting to millions of dollars, making it a win-win for the participants as well as the trade visitors,” said Jeen Joshua, Managing Director of Verifair.

Significantly, the expo also witnessed the official launch of the first-ever exclusive paper and tissue business group, the Dubai Business Group for Paper and Tissue (DuPAT), which will promote the UAE’s US$2 billion corrugated board packaging, including tissue paper industry, to notch up new growth milestones while enhancing the `Made in UAE’ brand equity across markets.

ProPaper Dubai 2024 was held in the context of the growth surge in in the region’s paper and pulp industry, poised to cross over USD 20 billion in the next six to seven years, with GCC countries led by Saudi Arabia and the UAE at the forefront of a demand upswing for paper packaging products fuelling the rise.

“Significantly, this year we had 1,641 registered buyers at the expo leading to fruitful closure of business deals across the three days packed with action. The diversity of the visitors was also noteworthy from 84 countries in the region and across the world,” said Jeen Joshua.

A total of 2,710 B2B meetings were hosted by Propaper Dubai 2024, supporting participants to clinch deals and grow in the MENA region, he added.

ProPaper Dubai 2024 also hosted an industry conference where industry experts discussed the need for paper business to embrace innovation, carbon neutrality and sustainable practices.  In an award ceremony at the expo, industry veterans were also honoured for their contribution in catalysing growth while not losing focus on environment and sustainability.
