Pulp & Beyond 2024, the forefront international forest industry event, is set to tackle urgent issues like climate change, the green transition, and the future of the forest industry. This event, from April 10th to 11th, 2024, at the Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre, will also delve into the global economy and politics, underscoring the role of innovation.
Hosted by André Noël Chaker, the main stage will feature enlightening keynote speeches and panels. The Speaker’s Corner program in the second stage will be announced in March.
Opening Day Highlights: Climate and Transition Focus
The event starts on April 10th, starting with an opening ceremony at 10:00 featuring Katja Metsäranta and Petteri Taalas discussing forests’ vital role in climate change mitigation.
At 11:00, the panel "Towards carbon zero pulp & paper industry" with Michael Carus and Petri Vasara will explore the pulp and paper industry’s journey towards carbon neutrality.
Paula Lehtomäki will deliver the 13:00 keynote "Role of EU-policies in global responsibility," examining the EU’s achievements in global responsibility and the forest sector's contribution to the EU's green transition.
The 15:00 panel "Green transition from policymakers' and investors' point of view" will discuss the forest industry's role in the green transition and investment perspectives.
April 11th: A Glimpse into the Future
Risto E. J. Penttilä will share insights into the global economy and politics on April 11th at 10:00.
The "Bioproducts as investments – Drivers and obstacles" panel at 11:00, part of the World Bioeconomy Roundtable series, will explore bioproducts as investments.
At 13:00, Michael Strobl will discuss promoting sustainability and business growth through innovation, showcasing MM BOARD & PAPER GmbH's innovative ALASKA® BARRIER GREASE cardboard.
The 14:30 panel "Going beyond the boundaries: what are the next chapters for the forest industry?" will feature industry experts discussing the future of the forest industry.
The Pulp & Beyond 2024 Conference and the Pulp & Beyond 2024 event, in collaboration with the Finnish Forest Products Engineers’ Association, promise to be pivotal platforms for discussing the forest industry's future. Concurrently, ChemBio Finland 2024 and Helsinki Chemicals Forum 2024 will enrich the dialogue.

A panel discussion on the future of the forest industry, titled "Going beyond the boundaries: what are the next chapters for forest industry?" will occur at 14:30.

The Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre, in collaboration with the Finnish Forest Products Engineers’ Association (PI), will host the Pulp & Beyond 2024 Conference and the leading international forest industry event Pulp & Beyond 2024 (free for visitors) from Wednesday to Thursday, April 10th to 11th, 2024, at the Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre.
The Pulp & Beyond 2024 excursion to Jyväskylä (250 € + VAT) will be organized from April 11th to 12th, 2024. Concurrently, from April 10th to 11th, 2024, at the Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre, ChemBio Finland 2024 and Helsinki Chemicals Forum 2024 will be held.
