New development U.S. producer Georgia-Pacific has announced that its Crossett paper mill in Crossett, Arkansas, has obtained recognition from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for decreasing its energy intensity by 15.8%.
Owing to this latest development, the U.S. paper mill exceeded the Energy Star Challenge for Industry goal by some 5.8% within three years, the company said in a statement.
“The Energy Star Challenge for Industry is a national call-to-action to improve American manufacturer’s energy efficiency. The EPA recognizes manufacturing sites that reduce their energy intensity by a minimum of 10% within five years,” according to Georgia-Pacific.
