Canfor to curtail Fort St. John sawmill

In May, Canfor permanently closed of its Polar sawmill in Bear Lake, BC, Canada, and the suspension of its reinvestment plans in Houston, BC.  The company cited a prolonged timber shortage and operational challenges as the reasons for these decisions.

According to Canfor, two temporary curtailments of its Fort St. John sawmill and planer operations will soon be implemented.

According to Energeticcity.ca, the first curtailment, announced in an internal memo on May 8th, will run from June 28th to July 15th, and the second, detailed in a June 12th memo, will run from August 26th to September 6th.
