Korean tobacco manufacturer Tae-A Industry Corporation has purchased a TT SYD MG Steel Yankee Dryer from Toscotec to replace their cast iron dryer on PM1 at their Daejeon mill in the Republic of Korea. The project is planned for start-up in 2025.
Compared with the existing cast iron dryer, the new TT SYD MG will increase the machine’s production capacity and energy efficiency, as well as guarantee higher operational safety.
TT SYD: Toscotec’s undisputed market leadership
With more than 260 TT SYD sold globally, Toscotec holds a large majority of the market share of Steel Yankee Dryers. In the European tissue market, it has close to 95% of the market share, but it is present in more than 45 countries across 5 continents.
Sung Chul Kwon, President of Voith Paper Korea Representative, says, “I’m pleased to kick off this first project with our Toscotec colleagues. Toscotec is a market leader here as it has performed all of the cast iron Yankee replacement in South Korea in the last 15 years. Toscotec’s technology is a perfect fit for our market due to its strong focus on energy consumption reduction. With Voith Paper Korea’s vast expertise in the paper industry, we will bring these advanced solutions to the market and further develop customer support in the years to come.”
