Mondi Neusiedler, part of the international packaging and paper group Mondi, is increasing its focus on the growing high-speed inkjet reel market. With its planned investment of EUR 3.6 million into an automated reel finishing and packaging line, the mill will be better positioned to serve existing and new customers with its high-speed inkjet 2.0 portfolio.
“Printers and converters have specific demands when it comes to reel deliveries, such as horizontal or vertical transport, with and without pallets, and narrow reels combined. There are innumerable variations. Today Mondi Neusiedler already meets these demands. With the automated reel finishing and packaging line this process will be industrialised - delivering more options, better processes and higher quality levels,” explains Peter Orisich, CEO of Mondi Uncoated Fine Paper. After the introduction of its high-speed inkjet 2.0 product portfolio, this announcement marks the next significant step for the Mondi Uncoated Fine Paper to secure a leading position in the growing high-speed inkjet paper market.
In April 2014 Mondi introduced its new high-speed inkjet portfolio 2.0, which features a larger colour gamut and increased opacity. New grammages of 60, 70 and 230 g/m² were also introduced, enabling printers to take their equipment to new areas of print applications, such as catalogues, flyers and post cards.
Start-up of the automated finishing and packaging line is planned for the first half of 2015.
