Kurita to acquire APW business units from ICL

Japan’s Kurita Water Industries has entered into an asset purchase agreement to acquire ICL’s aluminium, paper chemicals and water treatment (APW) businesses.

ICL’s water treatment business will help Kurita develop a more advanced platform to collectively build a global footprint. In addition, the paper chemicals unit will enable Kurita to expand its product offering in new markets.

“Through this transaction, Kurita acquires APW's diverse product portfolio and broad customer base in Europe, as well as other regions. Combining Kurita's existing customer base, which is mainly in Japan and the Asia region, with APW’s customer base, will further strengthen Kurita's overseas business platform,” said, Toshiyuki Nakai, President, Kurita.

According to Kurita, the acquisition of ICL’s APW business units is in line with the company’s growth strategy.
