Nomo Group, part of Axel Johnson International’s business group Power Transmission Solutions, acquires Avans Group, a company known for its extensive range of core power transmission products, along with a market-leading expertise in linear technology. This strategic acquisition enables Nomo to grow within linear motion and strengthen its position on the Nordic market.
Avans was originally founded 35 years ago in Västerås, Sweden, where it still has its head office. The group consist of four entities: Avans Maskintillbehör AB, Avans Linjärteknik AB, GL Maskin & Verktyg AB and German unit Hatzfeld GmbH, each with a different focus, creating a complete customer offering. Avans Maskintillbehör’s product portfolio includes bearings, seals and power transmissions, while the other units are strong in linear technology with associated products and services.
Together with well-known suppliers, Avans serves a strong and diverse customer base in a variety of industries, including transportation, manufacturing, energy, and industrial engineering. Avans holds a unique market position in the Nordics with its high technical competence in linear solutions, which is complementing Nomo’s existing business and opens to expand market reach and grow within new industry segments.

Over the years, Avans has grown and expanded its presence outside of Sweden, serving customers in Norway, Finland and Italy with an increasing demand from other European markets.
