Belarusian paper and paper mill Svetlogorsk has signed a deal with Sweden’s Ekman & Co AB under which the latter company will market and sell the plant’s sulfate hardwood and softwood pulp to the European Union markets.
The products that will be supplied to Ekman are estimated to be worth some $600 million, according to the information obtained by the country’s state-run news agency BelTA. It is noteworthy that the Swedish firm will also invest some $5 million in promoting the Belarusian pulp brand abroad.
Set up in 1968, Svetlogorsk is based in Gomel, in south-eastern Belarus.
