Brazil exports 7.8 million tonnes of pulp

Brazil’s pulp exports increased 12.6 percent to 7.8 million tonnes during the period January-September 2014 as compared to 6.9 million tonnes exported during the same period last year, according to a report published by Brazilian Tree Industry.

 

The exports of wood panels increased 32.2 percent to 419,000 m3 as compared to 317,000 m3 exported last year.  Paper exports totalled 1.4 million tonnes for the first nine months this year, a 1.9% variation.

 

Pulp production increased 7.7 percent to 12 million tonnes while wood panel production increased 2.3 percent to 5.9 million m3. The paper production reached 7.8 million tonnes, a 0.4 percent variation compared to the same period in 2013.

 

Brazil’s exports revenues from pulp, wood panels and paper totalled USD 5.5 billion, up 1.9 percent.
