Due to the high water in part of southern Germany, Leipa Group's Bavarian site in Schrobenhausen will temporarily discontinue operation. The company had to suspend operations at the mill until further notice.
The Schrobenhausen site was evacuated on the evening of 1 June and operations were stopped for the time being, according to Euwid. The paper and cardboard manufacturer will continue to monitor the situation in the coming days and take the necessary steps to resume operations.
The company told Euwid that the persistently high water levels of the Paar river still prevent access to large parts of the plant, and it is too early to make a precise assessment of the damage.
There have been no injuries as a result of the high water.
At its Schrobenhausen plant, Leipa operates a cardboard machine with a production capacity of around 125,000 tpy of greyboard.
